What Goes Around, Comes Around

70s

We all want that vintage vibe in our wardrobe. That essence of an era gone by. And we want to cherry pick the sleekest, sexiest, and most stylish looks from it. In recent years we've worn the best of the 20s and 30s, seen the rebirth and fading of an 80s come back, and we're just about to do it all again. But this time, its the 1970s that are due for a reinterpretation. There's an underlying confidence to this trend that's key… Even the more demure looks need to be carried off with an air of sexuality and a sort of defiant independence. There's a boldness!
Accessories are key when it comes to creating a '70s look. Wear lots of jewelry, but keep it a little cleaner than you would for a boho look. Try lots of rings with bold stones, neat piles of bangles, and long pendant necklaces and strings of beads.
Look to complimentary hairstyles like a sleek longer bob, masses of bouncy curls, or long, flowing hair.

The right handbag completes a look. Try for smart, high quality bags like a leather satchel for day, and a small bag with a long strap for night.

For those more daring, a pair of hott pants are the ultimate '70s item.A smart printed jumpsuit is another great alternative.

Below is a Photoshoot of our Lovely Lindsay Slott and our own affordable (Thrifted way of recreating a 70's Vibe) Remember, accessories, like the ones Lindsay is wearing, are key to creating this throwback look. Heads bands, whether braided or feathers, are definitely popular items this summer. Remember to be BOLD, and you too can create this look.

SKIN & CANDY: Do me Dewy

ALL PRODUCTS USED ARE MAC MAKEUP
Tools Needed:
-Strobe Cream (Normal to Dry Skin)
-Strobe Liquid (Normal to Oily Skin
-Fix +
-Mineralized Skinfinish Natural
-Prep & Prime Skin
-Mineralized Foundation SPF
-187 Brush

STEPS TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK:
Step 1. Mist your entire face with Fix + Hydrating spray to ensure even hydration throughout your face.  This can be used at any time throughout your makeup routine.
Step 2. Using your 187 Brush,  apply either Strobe Liquid or Strobe Cream (Depending on your skin type). This can be applied all over the face, or in the areas that you want the most glow. (This is a moisturizer- no other moisturizer is necessary for this look.)
Step 3. Continuing to use your 187 Brush, apply Prep & Prime Skin evenly throughout your face and let it completely dry. Once this is dry, you're ready for your foundation!
Step 4. Using your shade of Mineralized Foundation SPF, evenly distribute the product throughout the entire face, building to reach the amount of coverage that is trying to be achieved. This is also applied with the 187 brush.
Step 5. Once complete, apply the Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in all the hot spots. (Places you don't want to glow.)
Step 6. Fix +!

Tips:
-Choose precise placement if trying to achieve a specific glow in specific areas.
- Strobe Liquid is safe to use over your foundation, because it water-based!
- Put your Fix+ in the fridge for a cooling experience.
- Use your 187 Brush for the entire look!
- Powder is not necessary all over the face. Just hit the hot spots!

The Skinny:
When perfecting the skin, less is more! Prepping is everything. The preparation allows you to use less product, which in turn, prevents your face from looking like makeup, and looking more like skin. Remember!!... Just because you're oily, doesn't mean your hydrated! Always use a moisturizer.  Not all products necessarily need to be put all over the face.  Place things where you need them most.  This look is hott backstage and is almost always in trend season after season.  Strobe cream is a backstage favorite for the beauty it creates with little to no hard work. It's definitely a must have for every makeup artist's kit!

How to lose the last 10 lbs

I have heard many people say that they hit a brick wall when it comes to losing weight. They have reached a long enduring plateau and cannot see anymore results. The last 10 lbs is probably the hardest pounds to lose. Many have overcome the last pounds showing off their results and many have been defeated breaking down to their old bad habits. However, never compare weight loss with other's results. Men are more likely to see faster and better results in the same period of time than women. Here are a few tricks to help you surpass these last 10 lbs in order for you to reach your healthy-weight goal.

Nutrition
This should be top on your list.  I always tend to hear “I eat so healthy”, “I don’t eat past nine” and “I haven’t changed my diet at all.  Why haven’t I seen results?”  First, these intense fast diet tactics do not work.  Do not mimic Regina George from Mean Girls where you try the South Beach Fat Flush and all you drink is cranberry juice for 72 hours.  AGAIN, Fast diet tactics do not work.  All you really have to do is tweak your diet a little bit. Remember that you have already lost weight, so that means you need to adjust your portion size.  The thinner you become the fewer calories you will burn.
Work Out Routine
Do not do the same routine over and over again. If you did the same workout routine for 4 months in a row, your results will come to a screeching halt.  Not only does changing your workout routine avoid a potential plateau, but it can also prevent injury. It is vital to change your workout routines from day to day and season to season.  You can virtually try different combination of workouts such as Zumba, Cross-training, Yoga, Pilates, and weight training without stressing the same muscles continuously.
DRINKING
The occasional happy hour cocktail isn’t necessarily a bad thing for people serious about their weight. You can completely eliminate drinking alcohol or have an occasional alcoholic beverage and still see results.  If you are a casual drinker, then that’s when it can affect your desired goal, so modify your intake of alcohol.
It’s Friday morning and you are already looking at the clock ready for the night to begin.  Many ask which alcoholic beverage should be their best choice when trying to reach their desired weight.  Wine should be your first choice of an alcoholic beverage.  If you are going to drink a hard-liquor mixed drink, then make sure your mixer is calorie-free such as diet tonic water or diet soda.  The next alcoholic beverage of choice is beer. Try to consume the light beer and stay away from Draft, Lager, or Ale beers.
Intense Cardio
Just because you run 3 miles daily doesn’t necessarily mean you will see the final results. Yes, your cardio endurance will be at a consistent high but try a high intensity cardio workout not a steady, stable cardio workout.  For example, 30 minute run vs. intervals of sprint-jog-walk. The sprint-jog-walk can consist of sprinting for 30 seconds, jogging for one minute and walking for 2 minutes.   Increase the time period in each category as you progress.
Realistic Goal
Many tend to fixate on a desired weight number.  I weigh 150 lbs now and I want to weigh 110 lbs by next month at any cost.  That is unrealistic and can cause more harm than good.  You need to set a realistic goal that can be achievable such as losing 1-2 lbs a week.
Fitness Fix
When you are traveling, it’s hard to exercise regularly especially if you seated down for hours on a plane or car.  Sometimes you just want a fitness fix.  This can easily be done by tensing your muscles against one another and holding that position for periods of time.  You can tighten your muscles such as your abdominals, buttocks, thighs, and hamstrings for 30 second intervals. Do this repeatedly.  This can make an afternoon at a doctor’s visit go by more quickly.
Pedometer
Count the steps in your day and set a goal to eventually reach 10,000 steps a day.  10,000 steps equal to approximately 5 miles, so try to reach that everyday. Once you have accomplished this goal, try to set a higher goal each time.  These pedometers can be added on your phone as an application or bought at your nearest sports store for a reasonable price.  This will help boost your confidence and help shed those last pounds you want to lose!

Giving great music to the masses…..

I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water.
- Ray Charles

SKIN & CANDY: A Rockn Red Lip in 3 easy steps

Tools needed:
Lip Brush
Lip Primer

Lighter Skintones
Redd Lip Pencil (For an orange-red look)
Cherry Lip Pencil (Blue-based red)
Ruby Woo Lipstick

Medium Skintones
Brick Lip Pencil (Deeper red/blends evenly with Russian Red)
Cherry Lip Pencil (For a brighter red perimeter)
Russian Red Lipstick

Darker Skintones
Burgundy Lip Pencil (Deeper red/blends evenly with Diva)
Brick Lip Pencil (For a brighter red perimeter)
Diva Lipstick

HOW TO:
Step 1: Clean the lip of any excess lip conditioner or products. Apply lip primer all over the lip and around the edges.

Step 2: Using your lip pencil, start in the center of the lip and shade out.  Fill the entire lip with your liner and create sharp edges around the perimeter.

Step 3: Using your lip brush, apply your lipstick all over the lip, completely covering the lip pencil.

Tips:
-Ensure all edges/lines meet evenly, especially when needing to execute this look in photographs
-Layering is the key to longevity

The Skinny:
There's no right or wrong when it comes to wearing color.  Be bold and OWN your look!  When trying to find the perfect red lip, it may take a few picks until you find "the one".  If you are a virgin to the red lip, keep in mind that it is kind of like changing your hair color....its something that you have to get used to.  A red lip shows confidence, so work it!

Classy much?  Wear your red lip with a slick black, winged out liner and lots of lash.  Contour your cheeks with neutral, yet somewhat minimal color and let your lips do the rest.

Red Lip vs. Smokey eye?  Who says you can't wear them at the same time?  Work your red lip with a smudgey smokey eye and create a look to kill. To avoid it looking trashy, keep your placement precise and don't rush executing this look.

Introducing Summer Trends With Mucho Mucho Bueno Bueno

One big trend this summer is anything striped and nautical, and for those of you who haven't already started wearing headbands and feathers, now is a great time to start!

Photographer + Make-up: Johnny Rendon
Hair by: Sunchild Salon
Styling: Martin Garza
Models: Kelly Amber Garcia + Brandi Lisenbe
[aka mucho mucho bueno bueno]

Brandi Lisbene is wearing a feather headband, created by Bueno Bueno, Vintage denim vest (from Levi's), and a striped long v neck tank (thrifted at Taxi Taxi), With denim shorts. The boots are vintage that can easily be replaced with any type of combat boot. Sandals are great, but if you plan on stomping around a big city all day, they aren’t so practical (trekking up stairs, through the park, on sidewalks…you get the picture). Boots or flats with a light rubber sole are weightless and easy for strolling.

Stripes are a dominant part of any spring / summer season, though usually, year on year, featuring a variation on the theme. Spring 2011 sees stripes with an unsurprising nautical dominance.

Kelly Garcia is wearing a Band T- shirt taken from the Bueno Bueno Vintage collection, acid washed Jeans that were cut into cuffed shorts Thrifted at Buffalo Exchange, and boots thrifted at one of her favorite Houston places, Texas Junk. Again wearing a braided headband by BUENO BUENO.

All of our trends posts are intended to show that summer trends does not have to break your bank. Headbands and feathers are definitely a trend you need to try this spring + summer.
You can find one of a kind, handmade made headbands on Brandi + Kelly's Blog Mucho Mucho Bueno Bueno OR you can go directly to their online SHOP (yes, they take a lot of custom orders too).

PS: Below is my first Video shoot, produced by Apollo Landingin. We had a great team working, it was kind of a impromptu shoot that kind of had no direction at first, and then we kind of just went with it. Since then, our Video shoots have started to form story lines, and added just a bit more edge and creativity to it.

I personally am very excited for the next few video shoots to come! …and just for a kind of a tease, ill let you know that it will definitely be rocking the 80's concept and music!

Stay tuned!
